We know supporting the communities where we live, work and play makes them stronger. That’s why we are proud to offer opportunities within our supply chain to small and diverse-owned businesses.
Through our Supplier Diversity Program, we are committed to providing equitable opportunities for small and diverse-owned businesses to pitch to us or bid in proposal opportunities as they arise.
To participate in our Supplier Diversity Program businesses must be U.S. based and maintain certifications from at least one of the following entities:
- U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA)
- National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC)
- Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC)
- Disability:In
- National Veteran-Owned Business Association (NaVOBA)
- U.S. Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce (USPAACC)
- National LGBT Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC)
- Or a Federal, Regional and State certifying agencies
While there is no cost to participate in our Supplier Diversity Program, there are costs associated with being certified as a diverse-owned business; those costs are paid to the certifying organization.
The Container Store Diverse Supplier Summit is a key component of our Supplier Diversity Program as it gives small and certified diverse-owned businesses an opportunity to showcase their product and service offering.
Selection Criteria
- Must hold a current small business or diverse owned certification(s)
- Must offer a product, service, or solution in at least one of the following categories:
- Bath – Countertop Collections, Candles, Diffusers, Bath consumables (lotions/soaps/etc)
- Closet & Laundry – Jewelry And Accessory Storage, Decorative Closet Bins & Boxes (Artisan), Shoe Storage, Boutique Laundry Consumables
- Gift Packaging – party supplies, tableware (disposable, reusable, and/or sustainable)
- Kitchen – glass food storage, coffee and tea items, freezer solutions
- Office – cool multifunctional tech items, modern desktop items, task lamps, label makers and machines, desk chairs and desks, communication boards (functional but decorative)
- Storage – decorative and utilitarian storage, toy storage, baby blankets, kids’ baskets and bins
- Towers – games (travel size), giftable, seasonal products (e.g. themed items and party supplies)
- Travel – Travel essentials (bag tags, pillows, blanksets, eye masks), travel pouches.
Selections Process
Applications must be submitted by July 21, 2023. Invitations to selected suppliers will be sent by July 28, 2023, and attendance must be confirmed no later than August 1, 2023.
